Happy Holiday!!

Image
Happy Holidays to you ALL!!  Welcome to my blog!!  I love the Christmas season....it gives me the opportunity to shower everyone in my family and give back to those in need too.  I do these things all year round but there is something extra special about the holiday season that fills the heart with JOY and to be able to help those less fortunate is always a plus!! So my family's holiday gathering this year served as a two for one event!!  We had time to spend chatting it up with one another, being creative making ornaments AND fill these boxes to be donated to the inner-city youth at my nephews Alma mater!!  What joy!! I wanted to do something extra special for my family of four; we wore white tops with blue jeans and I made these ribbons using a file from The Cutting Cafe .  They came out super cute and really shows the versatility of this file!! Never-mind my handwriting (LOL); I wanted to use this silver gel pen to write the sentiment but I just don't have t

Hey there!!  Its inspiration time!! I'm back with my design team project for The Cutting Cafe  this 7th day of December!!  This week we were able to play with shaker files!!  I was super excited to create my project this week and could not wait to share it with you all!! I used the Christmas Word Shakers file to create my photo box frame turned room decor for the holidays.  I picked this frame up at Ikea a few months ago and thought it would be perfect for this project. I filled the shaker with some styrofoam snowflakes from The Dollar Tree.  The white flower trim came from Hobby Lobby in their clearance bin....I had just enough to cover the frame!!  Whew!! I really love this trim too, its three rows of little tiny flowers!  Love it!  The poinsettia is from Micheals' and I just added a few leaves for accent; some red beaded trim finished off the front!!   The word "JOY" inside the frame is actually the negative from the cut out.  What did I do with the

Hello friends and happy hump day to ya!!  I'm back with a project share for The Cutting Cafe design team inspiration for the 21st day of November.  Are you getting excited for the holidays??  I sure am!!  I love this time of year because I don't really get to see my family much throughout the year but we always make sure to get together during this time to share with each other and give thanks!!  I'm somewhat saddened though because my in-laws will not be able to make the 10 hour trip from their home to ours this Thanksgiving but I'm surely looking forward to seeing them at Christmas.  So for my project this week I created a Happy Thanksgiving card to send to them using the Happy Thanksgiving Word Shaped Card from The Cutting Cafe.  I adore this card and had a great time putting it together.  I added simple embellishments because I do intend to mail it so I don't want it to be too bulky.  I could see this card file being used as place holders too for those of us

Making Memories on Monday (MMM#2)

Image
Good morning bloggers!!  I'm a little behind the 8 ball with this one but hey, Tuesday morning will have to due.  Anywhoo, this week I wanted to document a summer trip with the "closest" women in my life (minus my Momma).  My sisters and I each have one daughter so this day we called:  "Sista, Auntie, daughter Day"!!  Aaah man, we had such a good time!! My sisters and their girls came down to my house the afternoon before our big day trip to the Baltimore, MD area. We started our "girls ONLY outing" with a meal we all LOVE so very much.....SUSHI!!  I took them to a favorite restaurant of mine; my daughter and I go there.....often....heehee We had such a good time and oh, by the way, seating arrangements were apparently important throughout our trip (idk) but the girls were really hyped about making the plan.  We sat one day oldest niece - oldest sista; youngest niece - youngest sista...etc.  LOL, it was comical.  In this picture we are seated oldes

Hey there, Chauntelle here!!  I am finally going to dive right into my "Making Memories Monday" series!!  Super excited to share with you all my journey into scrap booking!!  The goal is to scrap book something once per week and post it here on Mondays. My very first entry will be that of the one an only love of my life; my husband!! I created this layout to mark the start of his Father's Day weekend this year. We went down to Florida on a golf excursion.  I love the paper I used, it works perfectly. He is just the best Dad - always supportive, encouraging and an all around good guy!!  I was so happy to share this special time with him and feel blessed to have him in my life!! Well, thanks for stopping by today and checking out my post.  See ya on Monday!! Blessings & Craft Happiness!! Chauntelle

From my Home to Yours...

The holidays are fast approaching and I am working on quite a few projects right now; my plan is to give homemade items to my family and close friends this year.  My family has not mapped out a plan yet for where we will celebrate but normally we take turns so that each one of us has an opportunity to host.  No matter WHERE we gather my "Cornbread Stuffing" is ALWAYS on the menu!!   My sisters have both asked in the past for the recipe I learned years ago so this year I've decided to incorporate the recipe into my design team project for The Cutting Cafe this 7th day of November!!  For this project I used The House Shaped Card to create a greeting card for my sisters..... I used a little dot of molding paste on the pointed end of a paint brush to create this brick look on the chimney. Although the greeting is adhered flat to the card I did use pop dots on the window so it looks recessed and you can see I also added a little flower pot behind the vellum

Hey there, Chauntelle here!  Checkout my latest find a project share!!  I found two side tables really inexpensively priced.  I took them home, painted them white then used a sanding block to age them a little bit for some interest.  I really love the way they turned out plus this was my very first time distressing furniture!! In this first photo you can see some fabric I cut to size and added to the tops of each table....it too has uneven distressed edges for some interest...what you think?! I think they came out great and make perfect bedside tables because they are not too bulky and have two storage draws plus shelf space....can you see I put the remotes on one of them??!!  My bed is huge so to have these smaller tables was perfect!! I call this a done deal!!  I would like to try drilling a hole through the back leading into the draw to hide our charges but I can do that at a later date!!  Whelp, thanks for stopping by today!! Blessings & Craft Happiness!!

So Thankful!!

Image
Hey friends!! Thanks for stopping by; I truly do appreciate each and every person who stops by my blog and post such wonderful comments!!  You're all THE BEST!! This "Thankful" project is created for The Cutting Cafe 's October 21st design team post.  This week we were about to play with two files Halloween and Fall in a Jar or Halloween and Fall Shaker Cards .  I wanted to play with my Perfect Pearls for a while now and upon seeing these files I KNEW this would be the perfect (no pun intended) project!! :o)  I used the Halloween and Fall in a Jar printable set for my card project.  The file also comes with sentiments; however, I had this one in my head so I went with it!!  Check out some pics below:  I love the way the leaves shimmer on the card front, so glad the camera was able to pick that up.  The heart was a stick pin that I dismantled so I could use it here.   These are the Perfect Pearls colors I used:   Thanks so much for checking out my

Sweet Treats & Pumpkin FUN

I know I've said it before, I LOVE FALL!!  Yes, Fall is my favorite season.  I love to watch the changing colors of nature, the school children waiting at the bus stop to be picked up for a day of learning, testing new soup recipes in my kitchen, the new styles and colors of clothes, jeans, boots.....I LOVE IT!!  :o) I'm especially fond of pumpkins too!!  Although I do not celebrate Halloween in the way most do (no spooky shenanigans), I always try to have some candy on hand for the office and the little baby trick or treat'ers!!  This basket now sits in my office and I will also use it on Halloween to hand out candy!! I used a the Pumpkin Trio Shaped Card  file from The Cutting Cafe to create this adorable basket to hold all my sweet treats!!  Check out a few photos: These flowers I created using the leaf cut file that comes with the set.  I just duplicated it several times, colored and layered the piece together!  The centerpiece is a circle with brown s

Happy Tuesday!! Just wanted to come by and share a card I made last night using some supplies and papers I've had on hand for quite sometime now.  The center quote is a vellum sheet I fussy cut to fit in the center of the star!! Here's a picture next to the papers I used.  The stars came from a graduation sticker sheet, they were the leftovers.   I am submitting this card to Scrappy Moms - Terrific Tuesday Challenge Blog .  Thanks for stopping by!! Pumpkin LOVE

Image
Welcome back!! This week's post for The Cutting Cafe is ALL ABOUT THE PUMPKIN!  I love fall, it is my favorite season!!  I'm not a big Halloween fan but PUMPKINS.....just adorable!! ;o) I really wanted to go outside of my comfort zone on this one and because I've been wanting to create some "Fall Inspired" decor for my home I decided to use the Halloween Trio - Printable Stamp Set  to create this here....... .........a centerpiece for my kitchen!!  I used a clear glass jar from Ikea (came as a set of three), added some spray paint and my drippy goo punch to create this look!!  And here are my pumpkins!!  I cut them out with a double-sided paper, alternated the colors, added a leaf to each and wah-lah!!  They go 360* around the jar!!  The glass acorn and leaf pieces I picked up at Target and the straw came from my stash. Here's a view from above showing off the beautiful flower arrangement I picked up at ACMoore....with a coupon of cour

Boys are a Mommy's Dream come True!! Wanted to share some of the awesomeness I created for a friend's baby shower this past weekend....3000 Miles away from home!!  As it turned out it was "most cost effective" to take the items with me on the plane than to ship them!!  who knew...any who.... checkout some pics!! The theme was "Music Please";  Mommy & Daddy to-be are both musicians.  This Dollar Store banner I altered came out so perfectly for the space!  I truly love it!!  I created these simple tags using a file from The Cutting Cafe and attached them to an organza bag filled with a candle. A small gift for each guest to take home. The table centerpiece (above and below) was inspired by two pinners on Pinterest. They inspired me; I added my own flare and pulled this together and YES that is a genuine vinyl record!! :o) And finally......A fun baby carriage file I enlarged to create this cute card box; which can double as stora

Thank You Gifts

Hey there crafty friends!!  Thanks for stopping by today to check out my design team project for The Cutting Cafe this 21st day of September so happy you popped in!! This week's project has lots of awesome files the stationary caddy, the coffee cup holder set and the K-cup template file  just to name a few.  Check out The Cutting Cafe for all the awesome files available.  I chose to use the Coffee Cup Holder file for my project this week.  I have a pair of young ladies in my office that have been doing the most outstanding job helping to keep the business running smoothly and I just wanted to take a moment and thank them for their time and service!! So here's what I created: Super quick and easy project to put together!!  I cut them out on my Cameo but this file can very easily be cut by hand using just your regular printer in PDF format.  I kept the cup holders as singles and added a gift card but it does fit the standard size disposable coffee cup.  You ca

"Back2School"

Image
Good morning "cyber-space"!!!! (in my Robin Williams voice) Guess what time it is!!  Its The Cutting Cafe design team post time!!  woohoo This 7th day of September's post is dedicated to "Back to School"!  Personally I am finished, my baby-boy graduated this past June/2014 but that's OK, I can still have fun creating!! This week the team had several files we could use to create any type of "Back to School" related item; I chose the Post It Note Box File to create these cute little post it note gifts for some of my niece's teachers. Each box holds 5 standard sized post it note pads and the file also includes an assortment of belly wraps so you can customize each one!! You will also get with your purchase a sheet of super cute sentiment; I chose some teacher related ones and used a 1" scallop punch and adhered them to the box. I love this file a bunch because you can easily print on a regular printer and cut with a

Blog Tour

Image
Hey there...Chauntelle here!!  Thanks for stopping by today!!  First I'd like to take a moment to thank Regina Easter for thinking of me to participate in the blog tour!!  I'm so enamored with Regina and her products that I jumped at the opportunity to work with her in the capacity!! My crafting started out as a longing to make personalized cards for my family and friends. I have since ventured off to altering things around the house; or brought for the house!!  LOL!! And even taking containers and re-purposing them into something new and useful!!  I'm in love with what I'm able to do! Would you like to get to know me a little better??  Check out my responses to the question below: 1. What am I working on?  Currently I am working on a few projects:  my next design team project, some 2015 calendars for my family I'd like to give them as Christmas gifts, a 2015 planner for my daughter AND I had this idea to make her a cute little pouch/organize

Keep Calm and Plan On!!

Image
Hey there crafty friends!!  Here to share with you my design team project for The Cutting Cafe this 21st day of August!!  I was so super excited when Regina introduced to the team this awesome 2015 Planner Set !!  Not only does it come with almost EVERY tab you could think of needing in your daily life from family, work to crafting but you get blank tabs as well so you could do just about any add-on you wanted!! Click on the link to see all the extra!! I plan to use my 2015 planner for my craft projects, design team stuff and custom orders for my business so it will work perfectly to keep me organized and I can keep it separately from my business planner.  It will be more for project ideas, due dates and the such so its PERFECT!! Check out some pics...I used two pieces of heavy weight chipboard for my front and back cover in black. I also added this green "Pen Pal" holder I purchased from Staples some time ago for a different project but thought it would w
