Gobble, Gobble

Hello friends and happy hump day to ya!!  I'm back with a project share for The Cutting Cafe design team inspiration for the 21st day of November.  Are you getting excited for the holidays??  I sure am!!  I love this time of year because I don't really get to see my family much throughout the year but we always make sure to get together during this time to share with each other and give thanks!!  I'm somewhat saddened though because my in-laws will not be able to make the 10 hour trip from their home to ours this Thanksgiving but I'm surely looking forward to seeing them at Christmas.  So for my project this week I created a Happy Thanksgiving card to send to them using the Happy Thanksgiving Word Shaped Card from The Cutting Cafe.  I adore this card and had a great time putting it together.  I added simple embellishments because I do intend to mail it so I don't want it to be too bulky.  I could see this card file being used as place hol...

Making Memories on Monday (MMM#2)

Good morning bloggers!!  I'm a little behind the 8 ball with this one but hey, Tuesday morning will have to due.  Anywhoo, this week I wanted to document a summer trip with the "closest" women in my life (minus my Momma).  My sisters and I each have one daughter so this day we called:  "Sista, Auntie, daughter Day"!!  Aaah man, we had such a good time!! My sisters and their girls came down to my house the afternoon before our big day trip to the Baltimore, MD area. We started our "girls ONLY outing" with a meal we all LOVE so very much.....SUSHI!!  I took them to a favorite restaurant of mine; my daughter and I go there.....often....heehee We had such a good time and oh, by the way, seating arrangements were apparently important throughout our trip (idk) but the girls were really hyped about making the plan.  We sat one day oldest niece - oldest sista; youngest niece - youngest sista...etc.  LOL, it was comical.  In this picture we are se...

Hey there, Chauntelle here!!  I am finally going to dive right into my "Making Memories Monday" series!!  Super excited to share with you all my journey into scrap booking!!  The goal is to scrap book something once per week and post it here on Mondays. My very first entry will be that of the one an only love of my life; my husband!! I created this layout to mark the start of his Father's Day weekend this year. We went down to Florida on a golf excursion.  I love the paper I used, it works perfectly. He is just the best Dad - always supportive, encouraging and an all around good guy!!  I was so happy to share this special time with him and feel blessed to have him in my life!! Well, thanks for stopping by today and checking out my post.  See ya on Monday!! Blessings & Craft Happiness!! Chauntelle

From my Home to Yours...

The holidays are fast approaching and I am working on quite a few projects right now; my plan is to give homemade items to my family and close friends this year.  My family has not mapped out a plan yet for where we will celebrate but normally we take turns so that each one of us has an opportunity to host.  No matter WHERE we gather my "Cornbread Stuffing" is ALWAYS on the menu!!   My sisters have both asked in the past for the recipe I learned years ago so this year I've decided to incorporate the recipe into my design team project for The Cutting Cafe this 7th day of November!!  For this project I used The House Shaped Card to create a greeting card for my sisters..... I used a little dot of molding paste on the pointed end of a paint brush to create this brick look on the chimney. Although the greeting is adhered flat to the card I did use pop dots on the window so it looks recessed and you can see I also added a little flower pot behind the ve...

Trash to Treasure

Hey there, Chauntelle here!  Checkout my latest find a project share!!  I found two side tables really inexpensively priced.  I took them home, painted them white then used a sanding block to age them a little bit for some interest.  I really love the way they turned out plus this was my very first time distressing furniture!! In this first photo you can see some fabric I cut to size and added to the tops of each table....it too has uneven distressed edges for some interest...what you think?! I think they came out great and make perfect bedside tables because they are not too bulky and have two storage draws plus shelf space....can you see I put the remotes on one of them??!!  My bed is huge so to have these smaller tables was perfect!! I call this a done deal!!  I would like to try drilling a hole through the back leading into the draw to hide our charges but I can do that at a later date!!  Whelp, thanks for stopping by today!! ...
